Using This Site

Helpful Tips

This is a pretty basic web site (and hopefully easy to navigate) so there's really not much to know. However there are a few things to keep in mind to help you avoid any potential issues. Failure to follow these guidelines could have an adverse effect on your usage of the site.

  1. Use a modern browser - The site does make use of some modern technologies that are designed to make for a better, more slick user experience. It doesn't really matter which browser you use... choose whatever you normally prefer (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, Safari etc.). However, you'll do best to make sure it's the most recent version of that browser (or close to it) to ensure that you're getting all the latest functionality that the newer generation browsers are providing these days. You could run into problems using an old or obscure browser.

  2. Leave Javascript turned on - If you don't even know what that means, then go ahead and skip right over this. If you're someone who likes to browse with Javascript turned off for some reason or another, it is strongly suggested that you leave Javascript enabled when using this site.

  3. Leave Cookies Enabled - Again if that means nothing to you, then forget I mentioned it, you'll be fine.

If you are one of those people who tinkers with your cookie settings, rest assured the only use of cookies on this site is to help make your experience better, like keeping you logged in for example. You can read our Privacy Policy if you are still worried about it. No sensitive (or even useful) information at all is stored via cookie, and rest assured that this web site takes careful precaution to prevent session hi-jacking and other bad stuff. At the very least... you should permit "session-only" cookies in order to use this web site.

  4. Have the latest Flash player installed - Statistically speaking, most web browsers are already equipped and updated with adequate Flash capability. If you're in the minority without a Flash enabled browser, you can download the latest plugin from adobe.com/flashplayer/.
If you don't have the Flash plugin, you might get prompted to download and install it, especially if you want to make use of the metronome in the members area. Also, similar to item #2, if you are someone who intentionally disables Flash when you browse, you might want to enable it for this web site.
